Pogies for keeping your hands warm
Pogies is a funny word I think. A funny word for a pretty fantastic piece of kit – if you don’t know what they are, they are a cover for your hands that go around your paddle, usually secured by velcro. They can keep your hands warmer than gloves because, like mitts, they don’t separate your fingers, and they also make it easy to maintain control of your paddle because there isn’t a layer of neoprene between the paddle and your grip.
Pogies are great for shoulder season paddling, and you can always combine them with paddling gloves like these from Aqua Lung for really cold days.
